Rod explains the significance of the message stick to Captain Vaartjes.

The Seabourn Odyssey anchored off the shore of Batemans Bay on a picture perfectly fine sunny day with 802 passengers and crew. Ably captained by Bart Vaartjes who was blown away by a welcome and presentation of a hand-crafted message stick by local aboriginal Rod Slokee.

The Chamber was represented by nine volunteer greeters who assisted passengers not booked on pre-arranged tours comprising oyster experiences, Tilba wineries, a Canberra trip and other local adventures, to sightsee the many picturesque spots in Batemans Bay. The Sculpture Walk and Observation Point lookout being standout attractions.
